Village Tavern Presents the St. Patty's Shock Run:
Dress in St. Patty's Green for Defibrillators to the community!
Montgomeryville, PA - The Village Tavern and The Physical Therapy & Wellness Institute (PTW) proudly present the second annual "Village Tavern Shock Run", scheduled rain or shine for Saturday, March 10th, 2012 at 10 am. This certified 5K flat course runs through the Montgomeryville area, starting and ending at the Village Tavern. With the goal of placing defibrillators in every location that needs them, this race will benefit local residents, businesses, or organizations that are in need of a defibrillator. Last year, the run helped the Village Tavern distribute defibrillators to the North Penn Boys & Girls Club and Encore Experience at Harleysville.
"According to the American Heart Association, sudden cardiac arrests kills almost 1/2 million people in the United States. Because most of the cardiac arrests occur within the home or in their local community, a significant number of individuals can be saved just by having a defibrillator in their home, organization, or in their community center. Our goal is to issue 3 awards to individuals or organizations that submit an application" states Theresa Modestine, organizer of this year's event. Mrs. Modestine also stated, "The Montgomery Township Business Group will review all applicants, and issue rewards in late April of this year".
Additional trophies and awards will be given to all runners age groups for top finishers, in addition to the "BEST St. Patty's Shocking GREEN" apparel. Come dressed in your most shocking green t-shirt, leotards, sneakers, hat, jacket, or any apparel for consideration in this category!
After the run, all runners over 21 (bring ID) will be treated to a free pint of Guinness Beer and free food, entertainment, and music.
