PTW to host annual Community Health & Wellness Event
Lansdale, Pa--October is national Physical Therapy month. To celebrate, the Physical Therapy & Wellness Institute (PTW) will host a Community Health & Wellness Open House event at their Lansdale facility on Thursday, October 8th, 2008. The festivities will commence at 9:00 a.m. with a proclamation to be read by Andrew Szekely, Mayor of Lansdale, and will come to their conclusion at 1 p.m following a free medical lunch and learn on "Managing Joint Pain, from Arthritis to Tendonitis." PTW is located at 730 S. Broad Street in Lansdale.
On October 8th, area residents are encouraged to join PTW at their Lansdale office for a morning of healthy fun and education. Event highlights include prize giveaways, like free tickets to the Split Rock Resort Water Park. Between 10 a.m. and noon, Flu and Pneumonia shots will be provided for $25 and $50 respectively, courtesy of the North Penn Visiting Nurses association. Complimentary food and beverages will be served throughout the morning. And, PTW staff will be on hand to provide tours of the PTW facility. In recognition of their youth sports programs, Robert Babb, President of PTW, will present a charitable gift to the North Penn Valley Boys & Girls club. The Community Health & Wellness event will close with a medical seminar on "Managing Joint Pain, from Arthritis to Tendonitis" presented by Benjamin Chu, M.D., of North Penn Orthopaedic Associates.
"Managing Joint Pain, from Arthritis to Tendonitis" presentation will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m. Dr. Benjamin Chu, will speak and take questions on joint pain, with the group of Physical Therapists from PTW on-hand willing to answer rehabilitation questions from the community.
